The Harry A. Merlo Foundation’s generous grant to build the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts contributed significantly to propelling this transformational community resource into reality, creating a special place to gather around the power of the arts and celebrate artistic expression in all its forms. This state-of-the-art, world class multidisciplinary performing and visual arts center is located in Beaverton’s Central District and officially opened to the public on March 1, 2022. As a dedicated home for arts and culture in Beaverton, The Reser’s mission is to foster joy, imagination, connection, and understanding in our diverse community by presenting artistic, cultural, educational, and entertainment opportunities for all. Music Workshop

 
The Merlo Foundation supported our Oregon Initiative, focusing on providing free access to Music Workshop’s high-quality, relevant and culturally responsive music education resources for K-8 students throughout Oregon. With the Merlo Foundation’s help and support, we are able to target all areas of Oregon, bringing teachers and students the valuable and robust resources they need to have impactful music education. We successfully increased our reach in Oregon schools by over 20% bringing inspirational music education to 205,000+ students throughout the state.

Youth Music Project

Youth Music Project is so grateful to the Merlo Foundation for their 3-year commitment to our mission to provide affordable and accessible music education to all kids. Through the foundation’s gift, 38 kids annually will receive a year of tuition-free music education for the next 3 years. From in-person to virtual, group to individual, we offer exceptional rock, pop, and country music education to all kids by offering tuition assistance, instrument rentals, and state-of-the-art performance opportunities, all thanks to the generous support of community partners like the Merlo Foundation.
